What Can I Expect at My Child’s Visit?

Since 1985, our Old Bridge dentists, orthodontists, and experienced team members have created an inviting and educational environment for the whole family. We accomplish this through our tell-show-do approach when treating your child. This way, both the child and the parent feel at ease throughout their entire appointment. We stay current with modern pediatric dental treatments and techniques and provide educational materials and instruction in ways that you and your child can understand.

Our recreational and media areas are equipped with fun, engaging activities for your child, interactive play stations, and of course, educational brochures for parents to learn more about the latest hot topics in the dental field, newest innovations in dental care and helpful tips and guides to safeguard that their children achieve proper development, optimal results and a lifelong, healthy smile.

Why Should My Child Have a Dental Home by Age One?

The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, and KidZdent recommend that children see a pediatric dentist twice per year, starting at age one. Dental visits are very important during all stages of growth and development. Early detection of dental decay and other issues dramatically lowers the risk of serious dental ailments, oral health conditions, and ensures the overall health and wellness of our patients.

At the first visit, we will teach the one year old and the parent alike about proper dental hygiene techniques, provide diet and nutrition tips, examine the oral cavity and airway for breathing obstruction, and much more! We use the “tell-show-do” method of teaching which walks the patient and parent through each step of the visit clearly in an easy to understand manner, thereby establishing trust and reducing anxiety. Our experienced pediatric dental health professionals excel in communicating with our young patients and establishing positive relationships and healthy habits that our patients will carry with them throughout their lifetime.

It was my son’s first time ever going to the dentist and I have to say, I am very impressed with the staff here. Amanda did his teeth cleaning and she was so patient and gentle despite how scared my son was. She didn’t once seem annoyed by him and continuously reassured us and comforted my son. She played with the transformers he brought in and even knew their names! I am so very impressed by the entire staff there. I wish I had a dentist like this place! 10/10 recommend
